Bryce Loves Reading!!

So we've figured out that Bryce LOVES to read books. Soft books, hard books, books with flaps with things hidden under them, plain books, colorful books...it really doesn't matter. She even likes the newspaper and coupons. She loves "Goodnight Moon", "Guess How Much I Love You", "Peek-a-boo I Love You", and my "US" magazine! I'm really not sure how she inherited that gene because I for one hate reading.....I shouldn't say hate....but I really don't think I've finished a book since middle school. Even when I read Eat, Pray, Love last year I didn't finish it because the 3rd stop on the woman's journey bored me to bits. I got 2/3 of it done though :). That's pathetic!

Hooray for Spring!!

Okay, alot has been going on this Spring. Bryce LOVES being outdoors, looking out windows, being naked, playing on our bed, constantly chatting and laughing. Here are some highlights of the last few weeks!!

I thought I would try and get creative and take some black and whites in front of our big window. They actually turned out pretty well!!

She loves her toy box from her cousin Shay.....and how can you avoid checking out those chubby thighs!!

Bluebonnets Galore!

So I had this fabulous idea to go and take pictures of Bryce in the bluebonnets. Yes I realize everyone does it....and I wanted to do it too. My problem was that I didn't want to have to drive far to get a few pictures. Luckily I found a little field right by my office so we went there. Bryce was a great sport. She loved the flowers and being outside and even sampled a flower or two to see how they tasted. All went well until I was trying to position her and my big bulky camera swung around and literally nailed her in the eye. Pretty sure that was the end of our photo session. All in all it went well and we got some really good pictures. Here are a few highlights!

Happy Easter Bunny!!

YAY for Bryce's first Easter!! We made through a really long day without a hitch. She slept in the car between stops and we made it home just in time for bed and she slept like a rock the entire night! The festivities actually started a couple days before with a little egg dying. To my absolute and utter shock....Brandon had never dyed eggs!! I totally thought everyone dyed eggs and had no clue he'd never done it before. We've been together almost 10 years and it came as a complete surprise. It is absolutely no lie that you learn something new about each other every day. In any event, we have now started a new family tradition of dying eggs. Bryce even participated. She chose to use red for her egg. And I colored black spots on it and made it look like a lady bug. :)

We started out Easter morning with Bryce a little confused and trying to figuring out exactly what was going on with this thing we call an Easter basket. It was loaded up with a new bunny, candy and even some toys!! A tradition when I was growing up was that the Easter bunny would put egg with your name on it in your Easter shoe on Easter morning. She was a little confused but very excited about the Easter grass that accompanied her egg!
Once we got all dressed up in the cutest dress ever....which had to be paired with a nice pair of fuzzy bunny ears, we went along to church with Keek and Doodad. We followed up with a little lunch at the country club with Nama and Dedad. In the midst of all the chaos, Bryce got to try some Russell Stover chocolate bunny...she's a big fan!!
After lunch we headed to McKinney so spend some time with Nesie and Peepaw. Bryce got to play with Norm dog....she loved him....he was just her size and all she'd do is squeal with excitement when he'd come around. They had an egg and candy hunt in the front yard. Even though she couldn't actually participate she liked being outside with the other kids hunted.

Once Bryce got the egg hunt out of her system ;) we mosied back south to Keek's cousin Sherrie's house for yet another family gathering. No worries, Bryce slept the whole way there. At Sherrie's house there are some family traditions that go on each year. For instance, there is the adult egg hunt. Every year there is a single hard boiled egg hidden somewhere in the house. It's not easy people. This year it was spray painted black and had burnt wood pieces hot glued to it and it was amongst the soot and ash in the fireplace. Not to get anyone's panties in a wad but someone from the Poer family has found the egg like 9 of the last 10 years. This year was no exception, Keek claimed the honors. Another tradition that occurs every year is the bologna ball. 3 pounds of food processed bologna, celery and all sorts of jazz that is clearly not good for you. In order to become an "official" member of our family you must try the bologna ball. You eat it on a wheat thin. YES!! Brandon tried it and he actually kind of liked it. We gave Bryce some and with a few grimaces...she kind of liked it too! :)

All in all it was a really good day and we had fun spending time with our families.

Back-tracking.....

So I really am not good at keeping up with this but I'll do my best to fill in the blanks.

Since my last post Bryce has started crawling. She is literaly ALL OVER the place!! She's pulling up on everything and cruising around the furniture. I can honestly say that I'm not sure she's gotten a whole lot heavier this go round since she's been moving so much. Now that's not say that her chubby little thighs aren't the cutest things!

Before Easter, Brandon and I took Bryce to the Arboretum for the Dallas Blooms. She absolutely LOVES being outside and going on walks so it was a definte plus for us. Though she wasn't a fan of the constant in and out of the stroller so we could yet another picture. They all turned out fabulous though. Brandon was the photographer on that occaision and I'm pretty much convinced that might have missed his calling and should been one! He did a great job!

I'll fill in some more blanks in other posts.....keep an eye out for Easter, Bluebonnets, laughing in bed and her new favorite past time....reading!!
